Privacy policy
EFFECTIVE LAST UPDATED
The short version: this website collects personal information only when you choose to give it to us, through the project enquiry form or by email. We use that information to respond, prepare proposals and deliver work. We do not sell personal information, we do not run advertising trackers, and this site currently uses no analytics cookies at all. The detail is below.
Who we are
Founder Flite is a digital growth business based in Sydney, Australia. We provide strategy and positioning, brand systems, website and commerce builds, search and discovery work, paid acquisition, AI and automation systems, and ongoing digital operations for businesses.
In this policy, Founder Flite, we, us and our refer to the Founder Flite business (ABN 51 637 327 078). You can contact us about anything in this policy using the details in the Contact section at the end.
Scope of this policy
This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and through direct correspondence with us. Personal information means information about an identifiable individual, such as a name, email address or phone number.
We handle personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Where we collect information from prospective and current clients in the course of delivering services, the specific handling of project material is also governed by the individual engagement between us and the client.
What personal information we collect
We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it. The project enquiry form on this website asks for:
- Your name
- Your business name
- Your website address, if you have one
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Information about your project: what you are trying to achieve, your current position, an indicative investment range, timing, and anything else you choose to tell us
Correspondence and technical information
If you email us or continue a conversation with us, we hold that correspondence, including any information you include in it.
Like almost every website, this site is served through hosting infrastructure that processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs used for security and operation of the service. Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare processes this technical information as part of delivering the site.
This website does not currently use analytics tools, advertising trackers or third-party embeds. If we add a privacy-conscious analytics tool in the future, we will update this policy to describe it before or at the time it is introduced.
How we collect information
Directly from you, when you submit the enquiry form, email us, call us, or provide information during a project. We do not buy personal information, and we do not collect it from data brokers.
When you submit the enquiry form, your answers are sent to a secure endpoint on our website and delivered to us by email through Resend, our email delivery provider. If that delivery does not succeed, the form tells you and invites you to email us directly instead.
Why we collect and use personal information
- To respond to your enquiry and understand what your business needs
- To prepare proposals, scopes and recommendations
- To deliver services and administer projects once an engagement begins
- To communicate with you about work in progress
- To keep records we reasonably need for business administration, accounting and legal obligations
- To improve our website and services, using what we learn from enquiries and projects
Marketing communications
We do not currently operate an email marketing list. If we introduce one, subscription will be by your choice, every message will include a working unsubscribe option, and we will handle it consistently with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). We will not add you to a marketing list simply because you made an enquiry.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed to operate the business:
- Service providers that help us run the website and communications, including Cloudflare (website hosting, delivery and enquiry form processing), Resend (sending enquiry emails) and the provider of our business email
- Professional advisers, such as an accountant or lawyer, where genuinely required
- Specialist collaborators engaged on a project, only to the extent the project requires and under an expectation of confidentiality
- Anyone else you authorise us to share it with, or where disclosure is required by law
Overseas processing
Some of the service providers above process data outside Australia. Cloudflare operates a global network, and Resend is a United States based service, which means enquiry submissions are processed on infrastructure outside Australia. We choose established providers with published security and privacy practices, but information processed overseas is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
How we protect information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, including serving this website over HTTPS, limiting access to enquiry information, and using reputable providers for hosting and form processing.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach involving your personal information that is likely to result in serious harm, we will act consistently with the notifiable data breaches scheme in the Privacy Act, including notifying affected individuals where required.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as we reasonably need it for the purposes described in this policy: enquiry information while a conversation or potential engagement is live, project records for the life of the engagement and afterwards as needed for business, accounting and legal purposes, and correspondence as part of ordinary business records. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Access and correction
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, and ask us to correct anything inaccurate or out of date. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge for making a request.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by phone on 1300 363 992.
Third-party websites
This website links to external sites, including the platforms of service providers we describe and, over time, social media profiles. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control and this policy does not cover.
Children
This website provides business services and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change, for example if analytics are added to the website, and the Last updated date above will change when we do. Significant changes will be flagged on this page.
